Lately

Lately, we've been busy.

With school and homework.

And two weeks ago, I was in D.C. for work, and my trip was great! Very productive on the work front, plus I got to see lots of friends.

And celebrities (that's "The Donald" below, who was walking right in front of us on the way to his rally.)

But we have still found time for fun and togetherness. I get Libby to myself after school while Matthew is napping, and Matthew in the mornings after Libby goes to school and before he goes, as well as our special Wednesdays together.

"Have a sip'a Mama's tea?"
We also got to enjoy some fun times one day in the Mountains a couple of weeks ago, and I don't think I have mentioned it yet in the blog. But there was walking, eating, canoeing and fun together.

This didn't last long, but they did this on their own!

Then, this weekend, Mimi and I kicked it off with dinner with Diddy at their favorite delectable seafood spot near the Cobb Energy Center for the Performing Arts. Everything was wonderful, and it was fun to enjoy just some grown up time with my parents.

Michael enjoyed fun time with the babies, too!

Then, Mom and I went to see Kristin Chenoweth perform! Dad got mom the tickets for Mother's Day, but sadly couldn't go because of work. However, I was the lucky beneficiary, and Mom and I could not have had a better time. I liked Kristin before, but I love her now! Here's a bit about her show and performance, which was a benefit for the ArtsBridge Foundation program. Gotta love that, too! She was honest, forthright, funny, Southern, moving, and brought us to tears with too many emotions during her performance! "Moon River," "I Could Have Danced All Night," "Bring Him Home," "Fathers and Daughters," even "When She Loved Me" (from Toy Story 2) and of course a couple from Wicked-- "Popular" where she joked about Trump and "For Good" that she sang with an eleven year-old from the audience was touching. "Little Sparrow" was incredible as well, and her testimony before and after "Upon this Rock" with the kids from the ArtsBridge Foundation backing her up was powerful.

This photo was BEFORE she ruined our makeup with all the crying.
We got to celebrate Diddy's birthday in the mountains AND again this weekend. He spent Saturday night (WAAAAY late, after the Georgia game) and Sunday night, where he got to watch the Emmy's with us - totally the way he wanted to spend his birthday. Actually, he was with his grandbabies all day, so it was quite ideal, I think. Matthew even insisted on leaving the nursery to sit with us in church this week. Plus, he took Libby to Japanfest in Gwinnett on Sunday afternoon. She ate Japanese food, painted, learned more about the culture, and played with (and brought home her own package of - Dots!)

And she even got to climb aboard ANOTHER tractor.

And today she played with the dots again today. She created one of the suggested designs, and one of her very own.

We had a special dinner for Diddy and a yummy apple peanut butter crisp dessert, with vanilla ice cream.

And Matthew REALLY liked his dessert.

Libby also got to go to a school friend's birthday party on Saturday! She had four classmates with birthdays last week, and got to attend Raina's party at Xdrenaline. Plus, her friends Joanna and Gracie from class were there, too. It was great to start figuring out who some of these kids are. And she had a blast!

And I was SO proud of her work on her first big rock wall.

So that juuust about catches us up!
