How do you go about ensuring you have a person's undivided attention?
Libby now grabs you by the lapel (or that area of your shirt, at least), or the pants leg, or tonight, the top of the elastic shorts I was wearing, nearly pulling them down! She grabs, tugs, pulls, whatever, until you move to the location she would like for you to be, as if to tell you, "Come ON!" I guess those toddler tendencies are really coming out now, huh?
I've been working a bunch this month, as I mentioned before. Well the last few days have been no exception and when she got home from gymnastics with GiGi this morning (I had a work event to attend), I absolutely had to finish up a few things before I could really focus on her and play. Poor baby girl just wanted her Mommy again after we've been apart so much (I even got home kinda late from work last night, cutting down on our time together then). I gave her some quick loving and attention, but had to get back to work for about five more minutes. Her sad (even if fake) crying, was just about heart-breaking.
Now, to be honest, she didn't care that much about seeing me even when I did get home last night (way too much fun playing with GiGi!) But I always feel like I ought to be available when she seriously wants/needs me. I sure hope to be the majority of the time as she grows up!
I made up for today's brush off (GiGi WAS still here to play with her at the time), with a trip to the playground since the weather was so pleasant this morning! We had a picnic out there and everything. I sure love being with my baby girl.
Also, have I mentioned how much she loves strawberries all of a sudden? For the longest time she would only eat the freeze-dried kind, but now she just loves them and I find it delightful!
Libby has also turned into my little monkey. Due to gymnastics, no doubt, she's hanging off everything she possibly can, swinging and pulling up as best she can. She practiced on some real equipment after class today while we were at the playground, too!
My little dynamo!
Oh- and a good teaching moment for myself occurred today, as well. I was getting some stuff ready for dinner and my arm accidentally hit the vegetable oil bottle (the top was off) and knocked it over on the counter, spilling everywhere, including down my legs, shorts, shoes and all over the floor. All I can say is that I'm glad that Libby was taking a long nap today!!! I've now washed the affected rags, clothing, etc. multiple times and it's still greasy feeling and smells like veggie oil!
Suggestions?

I think that putting them back in the washer again, hot water if they can tolerate it, detergent, and Oxyclean (lots of it), agitate a few minutes then let them soak overnight. Run it through the pre-treat cycle in the morning and then wash again normally. Hope it helps! Love, GiGi
