Hoppy Easter

Yes, I'm a bit behind, but I have good reasons.

We've been in and out of town for work a good deal (I thought we were supposed to slow down now that busy season is over for Michael?), then out of town for fun and then we lost Michael's grandfather and traveled to be with his family for the funeral (and as much as Grandpa loved the computer, I'm not going to blog about.)

So I've tried to just enjoy Libby as much as possible when I have a moment or two of down time. There's never enough of that, of course! And if you notice, the new music for the blog is how I've been feeling lately. She's growing up so quickly, has spent more time away from us (and been more than fine without us, of course!), she's Miss Independent in many ways and I keep thinking about the end of the summer and how she'll start pre-school in the Fall! It's just so hard to believe how fast it goes.

Anyway, now to catch up on Easter!

A couple of evenings before Easter, we had to prepare with egg dyeing!

Also Easter week, we met Daddy for a fun lunch out!

Easter morning was very fun and somehow didn't feel TOO rushed. Libby, of course, already knew all about egg hunting since she'd gotten a little practice at her hunt the week before, so she got right into the spirit of things (and is still hunting eggs from time to time even now, weeks later. You should hear her squeal when she finds one- no matter how easy it is to spot!) Here she is, "showing" me her egg.

And she was pretty stoked about the chocolate, too! And she got to eat one piece even before breakfast.

And chocolate straws were even in her basket to make her milk chocolate-y!

If you'll notice the movie, "Snoopy Come Home" there in front of her basket, you also now know her favorite movie of the moment - and it's a hoot to watch it with her. She responds to it with various words and answers, along with motion.

We had a pancake breakfast that was quite the feast at church. I hadn't planned on going but had to be there for handbell practice before the service and it worked out just great. It was tasty, too! Perhaps a new tradition!

After, it was photo time, of course.

And she'd had a bit of lettuce as a snack from our garden before we got started, so it made photo-time extra fun...

Libby got to get a bit more comfy after photo time...

Then was dinner (steaks- ha, grilled potatoes, salad) and dessert...

Y'all, this was Savannah Cream Cake and the recipe was from Elizabeth on 37th in Savannah. It's a legendary restaurant there (a special occasion-type place ) where I hope to actually eat someday! It reminded me of a light English trifle (even if it isn't actually light, calorie-wise). Yum.

And then it was time for Easter baskets from Gigi & Papa's house and Marmena & Granddiddy's house! We still have chocolate galore - so stop on by and please take some!

The week after Easter was Steeplechase. Next post is about that.
