Ansley's Three!

Ansley Fuller turned three years old on Sunday, so we got to celebrate with her family and friends on Saturday. Though it looked like it was going to be a rainy day, and it did remain overcast, it was actually quite a lovely day for a "The Little Mermaid" party at the park with not a drop falling on us other than the bubbles and water guns with which the kids enjoyed attacking us!

Got a quick snap of the birthday girl with her Daddy and grandparents, Cici and Papa! Ansley's mommy is expecting a little boy about two days before we're expecting Maebe!

Libby's favorite activities involved the parachute, led by Ansley's Aunt Amy, a PE teacher!

And they got more energy out beating the stuffing out of the lobster pinata.

Uncle Ben helped Ansley by looking after her crown while she attacked the lobster.

Little Mermaid cake!

Gift time!

We had an awesome time at the party and then grilled burgers and veggies at home for dinner. We just had a really nice day. Michael and I even watched a whole movie that we hadn't seen before, "Midnight in Paris." We really enjoyed it.

And Sunday was the same. We'd hoped to go strawberry-picking, but the rain kept us away. It was okay though. We had a relaxing morning and fun before church, a lovely worship, fun when we were all together after and a great evening tonight. We got to chase the dog around AND play lots of board games. Just a lovely day and a lovely weekend.

And tonight was great, too. Picking weeds together in the front yard, enjoying dinner, giving Libby a bath and putting her to bed was a delight. Then, since I had no strawberries with which to bake, I just made some yummy whole wheat banana bread muffins with mushy bananas we had (my mom's recipe) for Libby and me to enjoy in the morning.

There's a lot of beauty in ordinary things.
