Back to Normal

I don't know what normal really is for us these days, but this week was pretty close to it.

Gigi and Libby on Monday. They visited the pool along with other fun... and then Mama was home with Libby - with no specific activities scheduled - for the next three days! Over the week, Libby "made" a number of birthday cakes for Spot and Commissioner, told tons of "new stories," we visited the library, where she picked out one book she'd checked out before and another longer, new one. She also made what she told me, was "Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse" out of blocks there. We got to go to the pool twice, along with getting a number of errands accomplished and a bit of yard work done. She read, we played some new educational games on the computer, made blueberry oatmeal muffins and just had a nice, quiet week at home. Libby swam a lot at the pool too, even if she didn't put her face under the water very much. And both days we saved a frog that was stuck in the pool filter. Libby loved touching them (gently) before we let them go at the creek. I hope they're doing well!

We've also watched, "Riverdance" just about non-stop when viewing a bit of movie over the last few weeks. I loved that show back when it first came out (which is why mom had my VHS copy) and even have the soundtrack, as well as "Lord of the Dance" (the SEQUEL to "Riverdance.") But I am SO OVER IT at the moment. I've already prepared her that she has to pick something else next week. Oh my gosh.

We also got a bit of info about Libby starting back to school, but we don't know who her teachers will be, yet. I'm thinking we'll love them no matter what, considering how long most of the teachers at her school have been there.

I signed her up to start gymnastics (not the dance/gym combo this time) today. I signed her up for the "preschool" class that she's been in before, but I got a call after I left that Ms. Nikki, one of her former teachers, had suggested that she move up to the four year-old gymnastics level! Okay, I'm not dreaming in five rings and red, white and blue yet, and wondering where we'd get to travel in 2024 or 2028, but I AM proud of my girl and I'm so glad I decided to enroll her again since it seems to be her "thing," rather than waiting until the winter.

She had a couple of too-short naps this week too, but not today! She awoke happy after three hours and told me there were "a couple of sweaty spots in the bed." And then, "I'm ready to get up out of this sweaty bed and go downstairs!"

Oh I love her. Now Mimi's here to keep her tomorrow while we're at work and then a fun weekend ahead. At home!

And we got big news this week that my grandparents will be moving just an hour away (instead of 4.5), near my parents! We're hoping it's only a matter of time until Ansley Fuller and her parents are only a matter of minutes away. And alas, my mom is going to have to have shoulder surgery soon and she's bummed out that she won't get to keep B for a number of weeks while she's rehabing. Hopefully this will make things easier for her once Maeby arrives, though.
