...Before School Starts

Insert your wish here. It may be "let's go to the grocery store" or "let's all go to the pool together" or "can we play a game" and it will end with "before school starts" if you're my Libby.

It is like Pre-K is the end of life as she knows it and nothing will be the same. What a tough time for a four year-old.

But while we wait, and cram in everything "before school starts," we took it pretty easy last weekend. We hung out together, went to church, didn't have a huge "to do" list at home, etc. Michael and Libby did take care of Commissioner grooming on Saturday morning, Michael mowed the back yard, I cleaned bathrooms, including scrubbing the grout, on the white tile, in the kids' bathroom. Some boring stuff. I even boxed up Matthew's nine month clothes. He's fairly stuffed into them now and he has plenty of 12 and 18 month attire that is cute and should be worn!

But Libby ran over to jump on the trampoline at MK's house across the street when she and Daddy got back with Commish from that errand. Michael came in and told me where she was, and it sounded so "big kid." Hmm, maybe it IS all downhill after the start of Pre-K. Nah - I love seeing her grow, learn and change. Though just after coming home from work today, I think she grew another inch. And shoot- she promised Mimi not to grow much while Mimi is away for a bit.

Matthew loves crawling over the bottom support bar on the kitchen chairs.

Ta Da!

Saturday morning was this - Libby said he's a "Matthew Ottoman."

And situations similar to these happen multiple times a day, at least. Ahh, sibling love.

And Saturday evening, we'd made plans previously to get some dinner out with the kids where Ty and Libby could play and eat some good food. We went to Baked! Well, before we went, I told my mom our plans. They were staying in Atlanta for the night on Saturday anyway, and had to arrive early to get some new camera stuff before their big trip, and they were with Oma and Big Daddy, SO they met us all out, too! It was so nice to see everyone and enjoy time together- even if it was a little crazy. The good news is that most people take out from there, so we didn't have to wait for a table or worry much about disturbing other diners.

And on the way out, we noticed Dad offering to take a photo of a couple in front of the restaurant. When I walked out, it was Nicholas Arnold's mom, step-dad and sister! Brenda was sporting some new, super-hip, cute frames. So we talked with them a minute, but it was really Matthew's bedtime. So, sadly, we missed seeing Mandy, Nicholas, Ryan & John Luke... but hopefully soon!

Next, we have some recent photos I haven't yet uploaded. Santa brought Libby this dress something like two years ago... we're so glad she finally gets to wear it! It's adorable on and she received so many compliments on it at church, too.

Fun with the babes! We did some fun playing at the playground, the pool and Libby and I did some baking and cooking last week, too!

We made some Nutella cookies from scratch and french toast for breakfast!

And Liiiiiby, was playing dress up with stuff in my room, when she told me "I gotta wear this pretty necklace because I have a conference to go to after work!"

She loves playing Elsa and Anna with my scarves now and she's really counting on a "Frozen" 5th birthday party. She asked yesterday whether maybe Anna AND Elsa might come!?!

Oh my...

All this said, we do have many plans for the week ahead of things to do before school starts! And mainly I'm just ready to get her packet with info about her teacher, class, etc. for next year.
