We Won!

After a busy week, with lots of fun visiting cousins in Greenville, S.C., Libby came home to swim in her first home swim meet. I didn't have to volunteer this time, so I finally brought the good camera.

Now, Libby hasn't been much for cooperating with anyone for photos lately, as Stephanie learned during our visit. I didn't even bother trying to take many photos. They spoiled us as always, and a good time was had by all playing with toys and hide and seek, swimming at the pool, and watching movies. Libby watched "Despicable Me" for the first time and decided she wants four minions, though today she said she would like six.

I did snap this silly one!

And before we left, these guys were so tired. We tried to get some photos where they'd all be matching, but it wasn't worth the hassle. Aaaand... the kids weren't quite cooperating, either.

Thankfully, Libby and Matthew both got a nice nap before the meet, and thankfully, Mimi stayed to help out. Michael was in Chicago all week and had pretty unfortunate travel experiences in both directions, so he didn't get back until fairly late.

Eat my Bubbles!
Theme was Team USA

Libby swam the 25 freestyle and the third leg of the 100 free relay. She cheered on her team and swam hard. Next week, she's excited though to use my swim cap, mainly to help keep her hair out of her eyes. She kept having to stop and wipe it out of her eyes. I hope it helps. As of now she's excited to wear it because it's a Nike one. She does love that swoosh.

Finally, it was time for her first swim.

She swam hard and reached the end!

She killed some time until her relay, and Matthew did, too. We spent some time on the playground and he enjoyed a bit of snacking.

No more pictures, mom!

After her second race, Matthew's special swim team friend came over for some quick playing.

And he gave his big sis a high five!

After her second swim, it was time for her real reward: pizza!

Matthew, despite a ton of food prior to this, insisted on his own, too. And he did eat it all...

We had a great meet -- Libby got a 2nd place with her relay time and a fourth with her freestyle. But the most exciting news was that the team won our first meet this season (and maybe first in several seasons)! Final score was: 439-383. Whoo hoo! Team coordinators and coaches were so excited!

One more meet to go. This has been such a fun season. Can't wait till next year!
