Fun Babes

Well, it has been a nice weekend - and an unexpectedly productive one, too - the best kind!

We saw friends, and celebrated Kellen's first birthday, which included many friends PLUS swimming, a playground and cake. And Chelsea! We got yard work done in very pleasant weather, to boot. We even got some china washed and even sorted some more baby/kid clothes to donate this week. Slowly clearing out the attic...

We also had the Arnolds over for BBQ tonight, and it was Michael's best-ever smoked pork. WOW. I think he could have won a competition with this one. I have never. NEVER had better. We really do need to try turkey soon. Nick also brought some amazing chocolate brownies, and a great time was had by all. While the baby years are creeping away on me, there are perks to growing up just a bit.

And on that note, Libby has been such a HUGE help with Matthew. Lately, they have been enjoying coloring, sticker-ing, and playing in and around a giant box we'd used for storage during the floor fun. But she is so great at helping with him and watching after him (while I'm sitting right there- but still). She is an awesome big sister. It is such a heart-warming time to get to watch them grow together in their relationship and together.

She's also doing just GREAT in school. And her favorite bus trip - home or to school - is the trip home, because she gets to sit with Taylin. On Friday, Taylin had the window down and her head up at the opening yelling goodbye to Libby.

Last week I got some quality time in with my little man, as he got a hair trim with no crying and he spent some time at a playground we usually don't visit for some reason. They were also doing some construction work around the edges and in the parking lot, so it was a bonus!

Plus, I got a bit of video.

Then, there was Matthew practicing his jumping. I don't have a video yet of "Matthew's skipping," but suffice it to say that it's quite precious.

Matthew spent much of church today in the nursery. We got him during the passing of the peace, so he could be there for Holy Communion, but he was still rather loud and talkative as usual. I feel like it's not as bad though before the end of the service versus throughout the entire thing. Today's delight was that he kept saying, "It's over. It's over now?" Oh Matthew. What a guy.
