Matthew's in the Two's

Well, he may be turning three in October, but Matthew is in the "Twos" class at St. Cat's this year!

We had his meet and greet in his classroom with his classmates and teacher for a bit yesterday, and it was confirmed that we'd have Libby's beloved "Ms. Suzie" from her three's class! She asked us all about Libby, talked about remembering when Matthew was born (while Libby was in her class), talked about what a great story-teller Libby is, and even asked Matthew about Commissioner!

After all of that, and a few minutes of play yesterday where he didn't even want to leave, we knew it would be a great start to the year today.

Of course I got some pics before we headed out!

And I asked Matthew to put up two fingers to show what year he'd be in for pre-K. He had to put his lunchbox down and peel his other fingers down to try and show me. It was a hoot!

He also humored me with a photo at school.

He waved to his teachers from last year and said hello. They marveled at how much he has grown. And then we walked right to his new class. He helped put his stuff away and got right on with play time. I went to work, and when I picked up him, he was happy to see me, but it was evident that he'd had a great day. He told me about music class and verified that he'd gotten to play on the playground, too. When I put him down for his nap, I could feel a bit of sand in his hair - a sure sign of fun.

And Libby's "twos" teacher, Ms. Lisa, stopped me at pick-up to tell me I needed to swap him to her five days class, because he was such fun in music class and on the playground, and despite not actually knowing her, so friendly with her! Ha! Love having teachers fight over my babies.

I'll have to remember this later on...

I can't wait to see how much he grows and learns this year!

Oh- he's also in gymnastics class with Riley - just like Libby and Ty had class together! Tomorrow will be his third class. They are so cute! Here's a quick video from playtime after class.
