Halloween 2016

The weekend before Halloween, we got to attend the Fuller's pumpkin carving and painting event with the kiddos. It was great to spend a little time together. It had been FAR too long!

Daddy did a great job carving too, but I missed those pics unfortunately. You can see the pumpkin her carved behind the kids, though.

This year, the kids changed it up again for Halloween. It was a Monday night, which was a little annoying, but I left work early since I'd been working plenty of overtime anyway, and it worked out fine. The Pearsons came over again, too -- Ty was overheard telling Riley weeks ahead of time about how they come over to Libby's house for Halloween for dinner, playing and trick-or-treating.

The Pearsons also often dress up to all match each other. This year's theme was to be Star Wars, and they challenged us to do the same. Usually I go around on Halloween as "Suburban Mom" or "Tired UGA fan mom" or the like. This year, Matthew and Libby chose to go as their favorite characters from "Paw Patrol," which means Matthew went as Marshall the fire dog, and Libby went as Skye, the girl helicopter-flying dog. Michael decided last-minute to be the little boy kid in Paw Patrol. Well, the mayor of the Paw Patrol town is annoying, and I certainly wasn't going as her chicken, so I took the dog and dalmatian theme and went with it.

Libby and Matthew were GREAT about pics this year.

And they loved posing with their personal pumpkins, too.

It was fun trying to gel up Michael's hair in the style Ryder wears his on the show. And as you can see, I went with being Cruella DeVil. Tyler said I should have stopped posing with me face trying to do hers, as it looked like I'd had a stroke. Looking at them, he was right. You can't tell how great and meticulous my makeup was, either. I've never claimed to be a pro!

Ty and Riley were so fierce with their intense Star Wars costumes, too.

All of the kids made it pretty far this year. And the parents were helped with the GREEN key lime cocktails Mimi prepared!

By the end though, the kids were pooped out. We stopped a couple of times for "snacks" (trick-or-treat goodies), but when it was discovered the parents weren't also carrying around water, they had to call it a night.

No water?! Talk to the hand.

We saw lots of great neighbors, including our cousins, who we... still need to have over. It was really a fun night. Morning came early on Tuesday, but we did survive the week. ...just in time to make it to the last push of the campaign I'd been working on for the last two years (or since 2003 if you really want to count), and still squeeze in a wedding shower in Rome for Thomas and Katie on Saturday night, too.

Happy Halloween!
