Another Long Week

Dear Friends and Family, this will be another long post.

We've had a great and busy week, with frequent visits to the "Awesome Arnold's" since baby Ryan's delivery on the 13th.  While I was not in labor, I think it still took me a couple of days to get over being up so late to celebrate his arrival!  We have had fun visiting him and his parents at home this week though and helping out (or at least just stopping by!) when we could.  It's been a good experience for us as parents-to-be, though of course we don't get the true feel since we're not there for very long periods of time - and not over night!

Commissioner got to meet baby Ryan when we went on Saturday evening to bring dinner.  It was a successful first introduction!

After a Thanksgiving feast during lunch at our office on Friday, my sweet coworkers also held a shower for Baby G and me that evening after work!  It was a lovely affair, as the ladies in charge never go wrong in party planning.  Most of my coworkers who live in town made it, and Sheridan even came down from D.C. for the occasion.  Baby G received a number of Senate or Republican (elephant) related gifts and also lots of warm, soft and sweet blankets and other lovies.  Baby G also received a few great UGA accessories, and I am now the proud owner of my first real Kate Spade item (other than note cards from TJ Maxx) - a red & black diaper bag!

(Another super cute diaper cake - from Loren & Amy.  Toni & Stephanie are pointing out all the useful items attached to it.)

(My new Kate Spade bag.)

(Sheridan won the award for farthest traveled!)

(The gracious hostesses, Toni & Stephanie - and host (and birthday boy!), Dudley.)  (I'm wearing heels.)

Today, the Queens and crew held a baby shower for Lindsi Pearson and her little buncle of joy on the way, Tyler James!  We had it at mom's house and had a very nice afternoon on a cold and wet day!

(Mom made the diaper cake to go with our "Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails" theme.)

(Lindsi is due exactly two months after me!)

We also gave Tyler and Lindsi their baby gift from my parents and us.  Of course, mom did all the work!

And in other news, Baby G is stretching, kicking me in the ribs and moving about regularly, though poor Marmena still hasn't gotten to feel him/her yet and neither has GiGi.  Hopefully when we're visiting everyone for Thanksgiving this week, he/she will give them the opportunity.  We're looking forward to seeing so much of the family ...especially now that I'm not limping at all any more and my hip is much better.  I'm down to once a week with the Chiropractor, too!

  1. Great pictures! And glad that your hip is better. Maybe Baby G moved just a hair to give some relief, although I know the chiropractor helped, too!
