We went to see her doctor for her well check-up and six month vaccines. First, they pricked her toe to collect blood for testing before even I realized it! Fortunately, that didn't bother her at all. They were testing for anemia, apparently. And it came back that she is slightly anemic. This made me pretty sad, but we just have had to add Poly-Vi-Sol, an iron vitamin supplement, to her daily routine. It tastes pretty bad, but she's taking it pretty well. Other than that, Dr. Licata gave her a perfect bill of health. She weighed 15 lb., 15 oz., (which is 50th percentile) and is 27.5" long (which is in the 95th percentile!). Her sweet little head is still in the 25th to 50th percentile. With that height, her daddy sees sports in her future!
All was well at the visit... until the nurses came in to give her the shots. She saw them and the needles, we moved her towards them on the counter thing and the crying began. The nurses were pretty sad that she was so aware of what was about to happen. Sometimes she's too smart for her own good. She cried through the shots but I got her calmed back down fairly quickly (not as quickly as I would have liked, of course)! Also, the doctor gave me the go-ahead to start feeding her three meals with solids a day! Yikes! We're easing into it with two. I see my kitchen activity time increasing since she's eating so much more now. This week she also decided that she does like peaches - mixed with rice cereal - and doesn't like avocados or broccoli. The reactions were pretty funny to those of us feeding her, though!
Michael and I went to a wedding this weekend for one of my coworkers in Birmingham. Marmena and Granddaddy kept Libby and Commissioner at our house, which was so nice for us We had a really nice day together, but of course, thought of Libby the whole time - especially when we went to see "Despicable Me" before the wedding! Today we slept in, but got back to Libby in the early afternoon and got some fun times in with her before bedtime.
