"One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish"

Today, my long-time dream came, true!

WARNING- MANY pictures below.  I got to take my amazing child with my wonderful husband, to the aquarium!  Of course, the Georgia Aquarium is just down the road, but I wanted to wait until Libby was old enough to be able to enjoy it and somewhat appreciate what she was seeing.  Well, she surely did.  She barely made it past the excitement of the entrance.  We spent many, many minutes there, admiring the size of the tanks, the amount of fish, etc.  It was a bit of a change from the 20-gallon tank where she goes to gymnastics (and spends a great deal of time there, too).

...and then we walked in and met the penguin.  Libby got a little closer with each attempt to meet him.

She was far more impressed with the fish than the mammals.  (As in, totally not in to the belugas.)  But they were just about the only things she wasn't interested in during our visit.

We ALL had a ball!

She even tried to swim with the penguins!

Deemed "wildly successful," by Daddy.  We really did have a great time and Libby was really on great behavior!  She walked almost the whole time, but asked for her stroller at the very end (which we had pushed around just in case!)  And she's not old enough to understand the whole "gift shop" concept, so that was a perk, too.

Tonight, she was looking through her sea life magnetic book that GiGi and Papa brought her from their trip to the aquarium and pointing to all the things she saw today!  When she pointed to the treasure chest, I said that she didn't see one of those, but that she was our treasure.  Well, as we repeated all the magnets again, she pointed to the treasure chest and pointed to herself with a HUGE grin.  That girl is too good!

Some photos below for your enjoyment!

So as you can see... a good time was had by all!  ...now I can look forward to next time when perhaps she'll talk about it a bit more, too!
