Boom! Brunch!

Well, I may have had to work this morning (not planned) but we still had our Christmas brunch with the Arnolds to get together and celebrate and do a little gift exchanging.  Mandy and Nick are Libby's godparents and their son, Ryan, just turned two in November.  He and Libby are starting to play together-ish and definitely interact more and more each time we get together.  Ryan was even saying "Libby" among so many other things this morning!

The ball pit is always an attraction!
Ryan gave me a GREAT pose!
We wanted to keep it low-key and fun, so we all stayed in our pjs for breakfast!  I'm afraid I was a little distracted, but we still had a great time together after starting the morning with just Michael and me showing Libby "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" for the first time.  She held our hands (which was wonderful as always) and mainly got very excited about Max, the Grinch's dog.  She also seemed to be a big fan of the long, curvy, crazy Who-dinner-table.

Also, Libby got pretty excited about Maggie, the Arnolds' dog.

Anyway, we had a delicious breakfast of Quiche Lorraine by me, sausage balls by Nick, blueberry muffins from Mandy and fruit.  (I'm trying to get rid of some more "cutie" oranges- I bought a big crate of them the other day and am slowly whittling down the pile - fortunately, I'm enjoying them immensely.)  Libby's favorite thing was the muffins- but she made sure the dogs got treats before we ate!  (Libby's very into sharing her food with us these days, too.)

Probably should have put the food on the table BEFORE I took the photo- or at least more plates?

While we were exchanging gifts, Libby's friend from across the street came over to bring us Christmas treats too, and we her the gifts Libby picked out for her!

And then I attempted some more photos...

This afternoon while Libby napped, I got to attend our "mountain ladies' annual Christmas tea" at the Roswell Tea House.  This would be with some of the same people we do "the mountains" with in the Fall and Spring, but some I pretty much only see at Christmas, so it's a real treat.  Sadly, mom didn't get to come this year, but it looks like we're going to have it at her house next year!

An old tradition and a new one in one day!  Now it's time to focus on "Elf!"

Church tomorrow- gotta play handbells for the Christmas pageant and then... go to the Straight, No Chaser concert with Michael!

Just one week until Christmas (and so many movies left to watch...)
