Christmas Week

Libby's still very into Christmas and all of the lights, parties and action it brings (not to mention the movies and sweet treats).  She loves the books and nativity scenes (and standing baby Jesus UP in his manger), too.  She likes the music and keeps requesting to listen to the "Straight, No Chaser" CD we have as well.

Michael and I are big fans of a cappella music and got to attend their Christmas concert last Sunday at the Atlanta Civic Center (first time going there, too.)  Despite that our seats seemed like an eternity away when we sat down, once the group came out, they really weren't that bad.  And the concert was very fun! I still don't know how they managed their mash-up of Stevie Wonder's "Superstitious" and the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive." I seriously couldn't have done it and kept track of which song I was singing as far as words OR tune.

We ate at Gladys and Ron's Chicken and Waffles before the show and it was delicious- the chicken, waffle, cornbread, mac and cheese and the black-eyed peas.  So yum!  (And another Christmas practice, since we have fried chicken, too.)

While we were gone, Aunt Toni, Millie and Uncle John came over to play with (and babysit) Libby.  Apparently she was a little sad when she first woke up, but got over missing us pretty quickly and had a great time.  ...until bed time.  But Aunt Toni just had to reassure her a few times that we'd be there when Libby woke up in the morning.  Libby nodded in agreement and managed to get over it after a few minutes.

She got to attend another Christmas party today at my parents' house.  Mom does Dad's office Christmas party at her house each year and I try to attend, if possible.  Libby and I got to go today and she was the life of the party (until she went for her nap), dancing, carrying around her chair and enjoying grapes and wheat thins.

Michael and I are now catching up on Christmas movie watching with "A Christmas Story" for tonight's selection and I'm on some real medication now for my sinus/cold/weird tired-thing issue, so hopefully by Friday things will be much better on that front.  Michael's home from work tomorrow and I have a long list of stuff we need to do before Christmas, so we'll be quite busy with fun stuff and work-ish stuff.  But we'll be together, so it will be fun - and goodness knows Libby likes to clean!

Also, at the moment, she's still calling every dark-haired person in a picture, "Mama."  Including a picture of Judy Garland as Dorothy and the photo of Josh Groban on my piano book of his music.  So... that's something...
