When she sees worms, she says, "Eeeeww!" but then she wants to pick them up. She brought a dead one a pansy. She made room for a bug to share her chair outside. She has you put bugs on her legs (when we can find one) and sits there looking at it going, "Aaoooohhhh," this little moan that she uses for anything creature she loves/pities, including many dogs such as Commissioner.
Yesterday, she and sweet MC decorated cupcakes for MC's dad's birthday and Libby's dad's birthday! He had mousse of course, last week on his actual birthday, but we did a second mini-celebration (even though he had a stomach bug this weekend- we thought it was food poisoning until it went into day 3... so far, no one else has been afflicted, though) yesterday with the Arnolds.
She was really into the red sugar sprinkles yesterday... and I never got a shot of the final products!
(No, I'm not going back to get the ones left...)

Michael was out of town all last week and I had to work different days - and until late! So, Libby got to spend time with her grandparents - both. Isn't that nice for her?! I missed her so much. And yet, I had to go in to the office today anyway! Oh well, we'll start next week on a better note and ahead of the game.
Other Libby tidbit is that she's saying LOTS more words. She just won't do it on demand and she pops out with them here and there. Right now we're guaranteed more than just "Nah," though- she's big into asking questions: specifically, "Dtat!" She wants to know what everything is - even if she knows it already. And she says, "Dep!" for "yep." It's funny though, because she is very careful with so many words to whisper them with great enunciation before she gets really comfortable with them. "Hat" "Potty" "Clock" are all good examples and I wish you could hear her say them. I do look forward to the day that she's comfortable enough not to worry about making a mistake and just starts talking more! I promise, Libby, if I can pick out the "Rocky" theme your Daddy is playing on your toy trumpet with the three wrong notes, then I CAN figure out what you're saying, even if it's far from perfect!
I love you, girlie!

Libby is such a perfectionist! I wonder where she gets that from???? She is so darn cute, who could help but love her?
ReplyDeleteIn reference to her love of bugs, today, while walking with Libby on your street, we found a fly that must have had a damaged wing because when I pointed it out to Libby, she touched it with pine straw and it didn't move. I told her that it might be a little hurt and that it was going to walk to the shrub for shelter and Libby did her usual "ooh, ah, I'm so sorry" sound and then waived bye-bye to it, blew it kisses and checked on it at least 6 more times before we moved on. So sweet.
