That I forgot last night!
I think my favorite was that we were eating dinner- some wild rice, very tender chicken with this delicious cheesy sauce on top and peas and, as usual, Michael and I were having to nag her to finish. She asked about why the cows were asking her to "Eat Mor Chikin" and I thought: perfect opportunity! So I told her the cows were going to come see about why she wasn't eating her chicken faster if she didn't hurry up. This turned in to a story line with her asking about how many cows were coming (just one); were they Chick-fil-A cows or just "house cows?"; after she ate another bite, "is the cow still coming?" (he slowed down.) Then she asked whether, when the cow went back home, whether the Mama and Daddy cows would check on the baby cow at night?
But truly the best line was when I asked her how she could eat twice the amount of chicken as was on her plate last night at Chick-fil-A, but not at home. Her answer? "Well, I like that Chick-fil-A chicken and french fries..." Skip a beat. "But I love this good dinner, too." HA! I was cleaning up dinner and therefore behind her for her first answer, so she couldn't see me cracking up or smiling at Michael with a shrug, but she came up with that second part on her own. SWEETNESS!
Also, this morning, she told me my dress was "cute" and that she just "wanted to hug all those polka-dots" and "does the baby feel comfy in that dress?"
Oh- another thing: last week when we couldn't get her to tell us what she wanted to be when she grows up - on Thursday night, after having viewed a number of YouTube videos on the "Lindy Hop," "Cha Cha" and "Merengue" (you know, lyrics from Manilow's "American Bandstand" and "Copacabana") because she wanted to know what they were, told me she wanted to be a dancer. And she has been hysterical dancing lately trying to show off her moves. Not trying to copy the actual dances, she tells me she's doing her own dances. Little Miss Creative, huh?
And I had another Maeby appointment last Thursday. Since everything's going so well and I've been down this road before, there wasn't a lot to discuss other than hearing the heartbeat and making sure everything was measuring well. Dr. Ribot told me everything was on track but this baby wasn't "going to be a scale-buster or anything." Yeah, well, I kinda grasped that and Libby was so little, too. Michael was really tiny and I wasn't exactly huge when born, either, so no surprises with that. And a grateful mother here since I'm the one that gets to, you know, deliver the baby. Hoping for another little Libby-sized head, you know?!
Next up? Maeby's "sprinkle," hosted by my sweet co-workers!
