Three Months

So Matthew, unlike Libby (until the last year or so where she's made up for lost time), is extremely vocal and chatty. I've been trying to capture this on the video camera, but so far, not much luck!

In the videos below, you'll notice he's talking or happy riiiiight up until he spots the video camera. We try everything that usually works to get him talking or laughing. Nothing.

But today, I got him talking to himself in the mirror!

Also, he's an adorable three months old now! He likes being tickled under his neck. He's on a pretty solid schedule during the day: Wakes and eats 6:30/7 a.m., sleeps 8:30/9 a.m., eats 10:30 a.m., sleeps noon- 2 p.m., wakes and eats and then sleeps 3:15 or 3:30 p.m. until he wakes and eats at 5 p.m. His last feeding is at 8 p.m. and we've left him unswaddled the last three nights. The first night he cried for a bit, second night, not a peep and last night, he cried for maybe 5 minutes. He's still swaddled at nap time for now, but we'll drop that this week, too.

He loves attention, but is good about not needing it constantly. He's sucking his thumb or fist more and sometimes uses his other hand to help get a hand to his mouth. He follows Libby with his eyes a ton and likes when she gives him attention- which is really quite often! He's interested in Commissioner when she's around, too. However, she's still crated a lot of the day right now. He isn't a fan of tummy time on the floor but he likes it pretty well on my chest when I scootch down on the sofa. I just adore him. He has a great time kicking the water in the tub. He likes the purple elephant the best on his play mat, but the new fish toy he got a Christmas is a hit, too. He likes having us read to him and enjoys looking at and touching the book, "Fluffy Chick."

I cannot believe how quickly the last three months has gone by. I mean, the holidays are always busy and it's been non-stop holidays since he was born, but Libby makes a big difference, too.

First photos didn't quite turn out as I hoped... but I still have to chuckle about it.

But when I tried again later, we had better luck!

This so captures my cutie boy. What a love.
