Matthew's visit included football watching with Papa and lots of play time, too. He loved playing with a Libby favorite: this marble tower.
Judging from their state in the car when we picked them up, they were pretty worn out, too! No doubt the grandparents were as well, but I think everyone found their time together worth the exhaustion.
At Mimi & Diddy's house, Libby ate lots of fried okra from ChickfilA and Harvest Moon, as well as a treat from Honeymoon Bakery, of course! And she helped Mimi make snail cinnamon rolls.
She and Matthew also got to spend some nice time with their great-grandparents, too - plus she get to see Kaitlyn! Diddy also took her to the labyrinth (where I have STILL never been.)
Diddy and Mimi also showed Libby "The Wizard of Oz" and cookies and hot chocolate accompanied that movie night event. They even went to see "Hotel Transylvania II" in 3-D. Spooky visit!
So yes, when I took Libby for a surprise trip to see "Shaun the Sheep" this weekend, she was excited, but her second question was whether it was in 3D. Sorry kid, not this one. But Kira did come to see it with us, at least.
Matthew went with Mimi to feed the ducks in Cave Spring before his visit to the great grandparents. He got his pants so dirty there that Mema and Boobus got to enjoy his cute legs pants-free!
He also got to go to the fire station with Diddy and Mimi. He got to "drive" the truck, slide down the pole and even wear a fireman's helmet!
Fun, fun times for all!
This week, Libby has been "Personality of the Week" at school, which means she gets to be the teacher's helper and the like. At some point she will get to present her poster that she created. She cut every picture (except the round one of Matthew), cut all the borders, placed them and glued them, and colored her name. She also picked the photos and colored her name. If you'll notice, she colored "Gordon" in the right order of the colors of the rainbow.
Also, a couple of her answers to the questionnaire about her: i.e. favorite things, etc. was that she admires "Matthew, because he's so sweet," and her one wish is "For a unicorn."
It's been a big week too. We had another walk to school day today, and last night we met up with Emily, Libby's friend from St. Cat's, and her family for dinner and ice cream fun! Emily has a brother who is 2 1/2, plus they are so nice, so we had a great time. We look forward to doing it again sometime in the near future.
How HOW ABOUT these loves? They could not be any sweeter.
Next up we'll get to touch on Fall Festivals!
