You've probably seen me write about the importance of "the mountains" in my life and upbringing, and how excited I am that I get to share some of that with Libby.
I got to take her to "the mountains" again this past weekend to play, eat, hang out and see my parents' college gang, who are like my extended family, while Michael stayed home to go to get chores done and go to the Georgia Tech game. As expected, Libby had a ball!
You'll notice her shirt... I'm pretty sure this gift from Aunt Mandy is the reason the Bulldawgs also pulled out their big win over Florida on Saturday.
It was nice and cold, but also nice and clear after a rainy Friday and we couldn't have asked for anything more.
Marmena, Granddiddy, Libby and I got a bit separated from the group in our walk around the lake, because Libby had to take in every single thing along the way. I don't know that anyone has ever appreciated that area more than Libby did on Saturday - and she didn't get to see the whole thing!
Really, we only made it maybe one-third of the way around the lake and had to turn back for lunch and a nap! But the lake walk is an important tradition and that first photo of us walking with/carrying Libby is one that has so many similar photo ops from our "mountain family" from over the years.
The short-cut over the bridge. And we still just had to turn around! But first, Libby tried so hard to take a swim!
Maybe at least a boat? ...or we could just walk on one.
Follow the gravel dirt road!!!
Where the Wild Things Are!
Libby even helped with the fire - throwing sticks on it to keep it going. We really had a fun day and to top it all off, Georgia beat Florida! (AND, later on for Michael, Tech beat previously-undefeated Clemson!) I can't wait until her next trip, hopefully in May!
