Memememe

"Me me me me" is Libby's favorite new word (rarely does she just say it once, but prefers to say it at least three times, if not as many as it might take to get your attention, accompanied by pointing.  It is meant as "Mommy, I would like to have a snack, please" or "I would like to be picked up so that I can have a close-up view of exactly what you're doing, Mommy."  Is Beaker the character who kind of talks like that on the Muppets?

A few other things I didn't cover about Thanksgiving in my last post.

Before Thanksgiving, Libby and Marmena had a craft day!  I was SO excited, because I've been hoping for this sort of thing for a long time.  And as much as I'd like crafts from Libby, I'm not the best "craft-er" myself.

She pasted the tailfeathers in the first picture herself!  And she obviously did the hand prints on the second.  Too cute!  She also now places her hand on my paper when we're coloring for me to trace around it.

And here's my expert coloring job, with some help from Libby- ha!

My favorite recent phrase of hers though, is "Uh oh!"  "Uh" if very clipped and then "oooh" is drawn out.  Today, I'd moved her Peanuts music box from where I'd originally placed it for our decorations and she pointed to the space where it had been and said, "Uh ooooh."

She also has this sinister laugh that has come out much more frequently as of late.  She'll do something she finds particularly amusing (usually it's something that she shouldn't have done, isn't very nice, or when she gets her way) and then do this "henh henh henh" throaty laugh that I can't even replicate as an adult.  Is her dark side darker than mine?  I don't know. Her Daddy finds it simultaneously funny and somewhat concerning.  I find it pretty amusing (and slightly disturbing...)

She LOVES watching the videos of herself at the aquarium on the computer and watching cards featuring an animated dog that Papa sends her.  Sometimes it can make work quite challenging!  The girl is already obsessed with technology and she loves to turn the volume up as loud as it will go!

While we've been working on a bit of "de-programming" from constant Libby playing, attention and adoration, all of my hard work will probably be for naught after tomorrow.  And she's been doing the sweetest thing lately!  Usually at bedtime, we have our little routine and she'll let one of us have about 30 seconds with her to hug her or whatever after we turn off the lights and just before she ASKS to be put to in the crib.  Well, on a night she seemed particularly cuddly the other week, I asked if I could hum her a song before bed.  I rubbed her back (which she does love) and hummed a song.  Since then, when I put her to bed, she'll usually ask me to hum a song before she demands the bed.  And she hums while I do!  It is SUCH a special time for me and I love it.

We got through three songs tonight.
