Catch Up!

Lots to catch up on.

Last weekend, Libby headed to Rome and Cedartown to hang out with her favorite people - her grandparents - while Michael worked on Saturday and I got a lot accomplished around the house and with errands... and got a massage. And then we went out with the Pearson's and Doyle's, complete with eight week-old baby Finn, to celebrate Lindsi and Michael's birthdays! We ate at Ray's on the River which was delicious for those of us that ate and apparently quite restful for sleepy Finn since he blessedly slept through the entire evening!

Libby and Papa at one of their favorite activities: watching the washing machine wash the clothes!
On Sunday we went to Gigi and Papa's house for Michael's family birthday event. Unfortunately, Diddy was ill and couldn't make it, but the rest of us enjoyed a delicious dinner by Gigi and Michael's favorite dessert before present-opening: chocolate mousse!

Libby helped with blowing out the candles and opening the cards and gifts!
And Libby gave us the special Valentine's presents she made with Mimi's assistance. She painted the frames, posed for the photos, stamped her name and added all the heart decorations!

The rest of the week Daddy was out of town for work in Athens. So Libby and I spent some time in Rome with Mimi and Diddy and my cousin, Kaitlyn, who is a student at Berry College now. Libby couldn't wait to "play with my new friend, Kaitlyn" and asked about her frequently on Tuesday until she arrived at Mimi's house after Libby's nap. We all got to eat yummy "Fat Tuesday" pancakes (a tradition at the church in Charleston where I grew up). And on Wednesday, Libby got to eat at Harvest Moon (with Mimi and me) and some of her favorite fried okra and black-eyed peas, followed up with a fudgey mini-cupcake from the bakery next door. She also helped me make her pink Valentine's heart-shaped rice krispies treats to bring for snacks for her class on Thursday.

I even got to attend the party! Thanks Ms. Lisa and Ms. Lori for including me!

They had to throw a beanbag onto the heart before they could sit down for snack.

Then they had to raise their hands high in the air to get their hand sanitizer before the could say their prayer (I think it was the, "Thank you for the world so sweet" prayer) and eat!

Rubbing it in!
Snack time!

They got to do some more beanbag playing after they ate their snack and threw their trash away - and then it was off to a little more free-play time before music class. ...and I had to leave. Libby gave me a great big hanging hug before I left, but was just fine. What a great treat for me! (And I brought the teachers a couple of their own treats, too - cappucino's for which they seemed most grateful!)

And it was so fun to open her Valentine's bag from school when she got home, too!

The complete haul.
A s'more kit!
Cute cookies from Ms. Lori!
Michael made a special trip home for dinner with his girls for Valentine's Day. And we made a special dinner for him: Seared Scallops on Lemon-Thyme Ricotta Fettucine with Peas. Libby unfortunately did not like the dinner, so she ate a pb&j and still somehow got sick twice that night. Thank goodness Michael was home to help us! I was able to comfort and rock Libby while he cleaned up. It made for a pretty late night/early morning scenario, but she was pretty perky on Friday and back to 100 percent in no time. She even told me "I'm feelin' much betta, Momma" when I got her up in the morning. Phew- that could have messed up some weekend plans!

Daddy got her a UGA book! Can you believe?!
She got several new puzzles - Pooh, a construction site one, a four-in-one animals kit and a Blue's Clue's!
And check out all these movies and books!
Before it was all over, she was climbing the walls...!
Her friend MK even came over and brought her a stuffed animal bunny wearing Hello Kitty pj's that is SO soft and cute! And MK even came over on Saturday to play with Libby so I could get some cleaning done around the house. They painted, played with play doh, watched a clip from Libby's new favorite movie, played with toys and the slide and more for a solid hour and a half.

Then, Daddy came home for dinner and we celebrated his birthday... (next post!)
