And OH how they've FLOWN!
(Definitely faster than when I was pregnant with him - ha.)
I thought Libby was growing up fast at this point. But no, compared to Matthew and how quickly time seems to pass now? Hmm, time, and our perception of it, is a funny thing.
My sweet little guy, my little dude, is nine months old. I don't have his new stats yet, but look forward to those after his next doctor's appointment on Tuesday. Plus, at this one, no shots!
And speaking of shots, I had to get mine with the nine month poster quickly today! He didn't stay still for very long, ya know.
Matthew doesn't stop moving very often. He may be "dancing" (bopping up and down) to the music on his play table or karaoke set-up - or little car wheel driving thing. Even if he's tired and you're holding him "baby style," he's grabbing at the blanket on the chair, my ear/earrings, my shirt or shirt straps, or digging in my mouth. Or, he's holding the two pacifiers he requires at sleep time: one in his month and one in his hand.
When he's awake, Matthew may be going for the toilet, cabinets (we had to start using the child locks on the kitchen cabinets again), plugs, cords, floor lamps, electrical outlets, drawers and other small and/or dangerous things. You really have to be on the lookout fairly constantly these days. But, so far, he is fairly good at listening and moving on to other things once you redirect him or tell him some version of "no." He did manage to pull out a wine bottle from our wine cart the other night. So that's been turned around.
This week, it's mostly been just Matthew and me. Libby's been at "Camp Grandparents" and Michael was out of town at the beginning of the week and had tennis matches the last two evenings (though he did still get some quality Daddy-son time in both nights.) And work has actually been fairly quiet.
We've had lots of quality time, but it's been so quiet without Miss B. Matthew is trying to get his top left tooth in big time, so that's led to some fussy moments. But we went to the pool for a bit on Thursday, walked Commissioner a couple of times, read lots of books, played... and went to the playground so Matthew could go on the swing. He loved it! The weather has been cooler than normal (record low last night, I think!) and really a nice break in July.
He helped me vote in the runoff election. He helped me do some errands and shopping at Sams, and he missed Libby! Little sweet dude. Oh goodness. We talked to her on the phone a couple of times and he lit up whenever he heard her voice. He kissed her pictures in the house and tried to grab the phone when we were talking to her. I think he also said something like, "I love you" after she said it to him. Seriously!
It will be nice to have both my sweeties home again tomorrow and for the weekend! I just love them so.
Happy Nine Months to the best "little" brother/best son, ever!
