First, let me just say that Libby is the sweetest little angel.
It's just taking her mommy a little adjusting. Lots of babies have a "fussy time" - a time every day that they get a bit fussy no matter what you do. Well, so far, Libby doesn't have a fussy time - but I do. My "fussy time" is the late afternoon, though today has been better. All day would be my fussy time if my mom (Marmena) wasn't here to help me so much!
Michael was able to take last Monday off and worked from home this weekend (when normally during this time of year he has to go into the office for at least half of Saturday) and having him home is great. He's been amazing while he's home in the early mornings and evenings too, and become an expert at bathing Libby. Tonight will be her first full bath, rather than just a sponge one since she lost her belly button yesterday! She hasn't loved the bath so far, but does like when we pour some warm water over her head, so since she'll now be able to sit IN the water, instead of above it, I think that will help some. But we shall see...
Commissioner has been adjusting well after her mini-break at Mandy & Nick's house while we were in the hospital. She was waiting for us when we arrived home last Sunday and has been trying to keep up with all of us and keep an eye on Libby ever since. She is sacked out and naps with any of us when she can. Mom and Michael put Libby in her swing the first time when I was upstairs one day and as soon as I came down, she ran to tell me. She ran over to me and then jumped a few times, then ran over to the swing and then to me and then to the swing again. She had to see Libby in the swing, too - and walked around tall on her back legs and backed up until she could see inside and make sure everything was okay.
Libby also had her first doctor's appointment this week - which was also her first outing. The doctor said that she's a strong little girl and said, "No one's going to mess with you, kid!" We know. She's been lifting her head and craning it around since birth, those arms are strong and very active - along with her legs.
In addition to being beautiful, strong, sweet, and a good sleeper, she is also brilliant. She follows our faces and objects and listens to us reading her books. And today, she spoke her first word! This morning after her early breakfast, she said, "Hi!" And when Michael and I were laughing about it downstairs later, mom said she told her "hi" later in the morning. Mom said she turned thinking Libby was talking to us. But we weren't there. So, she must have just been saying, "Hi" to her Marmena.
We've also had a few visitors this week - and thanks to Kristi and Neil for dinner (and several lunches)! Libby had her first stroller ride this week one warm day, as well. It's been a big first week, with even more excitement and guests to come tomorrow. I'll try to keep you up with everything, but of course, postings could be a bit sporadic for awhile.

She is truly a sweetheart. And so intelligent! I can't wait to see her again. As far as talking early, I guess she's NOT like her Daddy! Love, GiGi
