Libby's First Snow & Baptism!

This was quite a weekend!

It started with the rare (but more-often occurring this year) Georgia snow on Friday.  We had nearly four inches at our house starting early Friday afternoon and ending in the evening.  Everything is so much prettier in the snow, isn't it?!  Anyway, Michael got to leave work early and come home, so that was a special treat for all of us.  He did have to work quite a bit after he got home - and all weekend - but it's much more fun for Libby, Commissioner and me when he gets to do it here.

Libby liked the snow about as much as Commissioner does, which is to say not much.  We only had her out in it for maybe five minutes.  But since we couldn't take her out for photos in her first snow since it was on her birth day, we had to do it this time!  Fortunately, Mandy & Nick gave her a very warm cable knit ensemble for Christmas.  So we stuffed her in that over her other clothes, popped a hat on her, got ourselves and Commissioner bundled up and trekked into the great outdoors: our backyard.

Then, on Sunday before we celebrated Libby's baptism with friends and family at our church, we celebrated her first Valentine's Day at home.  She got her first Valentine's - one from her mommy and one from her daddy!

At church, Libby was a perfect angel, of course and didn't cry once.  Not during the service or when the pastor poured water on her head or made the cross on her forehead with oil.  It truly was a special service and we got to enjoy each other further back at our house after the service.

I don't have the photos of the family developed yet, but I did order a cake (which wound up twice the size we ordered - but at the smaller size price) and that's below.

By the end of the day we were all pretty pooped!  But Libby had to wear her special Valentine's Day onesie from Emily, Ryan and Charlotte for the occasion.

I love when she sleeps like this.  I know that these newborn sleep days are numbered.  Already when I put her in this position she's usually pushing up or trying to scale her way to the top of the sofa!  She was really tired here.

And today, we had visitors, too!  The Pearson's contacted us this morning to see if they might drop by for a visit this afternoon.  We're always up for visitors, of course!

  1. Loved the snow video! And Libby is a Southern girl, at heart. Snow is cool once in a while. And she is growing up so quickly!

    Love,
