One Month!

Our little Libby is one month old today!

It's been a busy, exhausting, fun, joyous, amazing, learning-filled, exciting, cold and extra-special month.  We've enjoyed getting to know Libby and she keeps us on our toes!  We've sought advice on babies from moms, grandmothers, aunts, friends, the internet and books and thrown in a bit of common sense, too.  While each day is different, Libby keeps to a pretty good schedule overall and remains the perfect baby.  We still can't believe our luck!

Libby's room is also just about complete!  GiGi and Marmena were here last week to paint her bookshelves and toy box.  Today, my first day all by myself with Libby, in addition to getting showered before 11 a.m., taking the babies (Commish included) for a walk, feeding Libby (& Commish), dealing with a few short naps, tummy and play mat time, dancing, talking and being available for Libby, I also was able to get her books on the shelves, work on her announcements, send some cards and thank you notes, do a load of laundry and get a few minor work things taken care of.  Oh- and I ordered her a sound machine for white noise while she sleeps.  Now we just have to rehang her artwork and then I'll post more photos.

Last week, we also had more visitors, including one of my coworkers, Tricia, and her two boys, Henry (2 1/2 years old) and Will (16 months).  That was an exciting visit!  The boys were so cute and Will helped demonstrate all the work we'll have to do to get the house baby-proofed before Libby starts getting around on her own.  Last week mom was also here because Michael was out of town for work for several nights.  But that didn't stop him from reading to Libby!  He called while she had her last meal of the day to read some of her books that he brought with him!  I didn't even know he was going to do that, but what a great daddy.

Libby also continues her efforts to crawl and "worms" many miles a day across her mat on the floor.  My favorite time though is when I have her on my chest and she pushes up to look at me.  She's just so darn cute when she does that and I love it!  

Ryan and Libby also had their first play date last Thursday.  They had fun lying on the mat together and I will post photos and some video of that when I get a chance.  But darn they're cute together.  

Tomorrow is Libby's one month doctor's appointment and she has to get a shot.  SO SAD for her and for her mommy.  I'll try to post again this week with the video, but I wanted to ahead and get something up for our readers!
