UGA

and the Classic City are a great combo.

I always love to go back and visit Athens even though I'm getting farther and farther away from my college days, time-wise.  But I think, and hope, that most people get a bit nostalgic for their college years.  The first years you're "on your own" (thankfully still with lots of help and backup from mom and dad, at least in my case), experiencing a whole different type of existence and attitude and the first step into adult life.  Okay, it's a baby step for sure, but that's okay.

I always wanted to attend UGA and it was the only university to which I applied my senior year of high school, much to the dismay of my college advisor.  Fortunately I found out in November that I was accepted, so didn't have to worry about finding some other school as a back-up in case I didn't make it in the spring round.  I remember the afternoon I read that I was accepted online and that I got a UGA sweatshirt and some other fun things to celebrate from my parents that Christmas.  I got to attend with some friends, and others transferred later.  I used to joke that UGA should be paying me because I was such a good recruiter.

This past Sunday, Michael and I got to take Miss Libby on her first trip to one of the cities where we fell in love.  We got to introduce her to our friends Amanda and James and got to see Drew, too!  Amanda was one of my bridesmaids in our wedding and Drew sang beautifully, so it's awesome to be able to have Libby spend some time with them.  We ate lunch at Inoko's new sushi restaurant - dude - 8 quality sushi rolls for $3.75.  And we ate dinner at Transmetropolitan.  At James and Amanda's, we got to feed Libby, let her play and introduce her to their dogs, Peanut, Pebbles and Tater.  She loved Peanut and it was our first time meeting Tater, a basset-dachshund mix who we loved of course.  Drew met us for lunch and beyond and we walked around North Campus, downtown and just got to be together with good friends in a fun place.  Libby also fell in love with a bulldog statue in the window of a store downtown, so we may have to go back and buy it... (okay, we won't, but she loved that dog).

It was even pretty low-stress right up until the end when Libby was just tired.  She slept the entire way home, we gave her the last bottle, changed her diaper (but didn't even bother with her shirt) and put her to bed!

At Amanda's with Peanut and Pebbles in the background and playing with Tater!
Happy with Mommy's sunglasses.
Relaxing next to the Chapel.
