DaDaDa

Libby has much to say these days.  Mostly "Dadadadadadadada..." about everything.  It's clear she knows that she's saying something specific, but it's not clear to me.  I certainly take it very seriously though, and respond with that in mind.

Oh I love her little voice!  She'd gotten so quiet with the talking the last few weeks, mainly focusing on her squealing and inhaling to make sounds, so it's nice to be back to more talking.  Though I LOVE those other sounds, too.  I just really love her sweet voice.  It melts my heart.  And what an affectionate girl.  Giving kisses to me, the phone when her daddy calls, her grandmas and she'll crawl over to your legs and pull up on you to get you to pick her up and love on her.  She's cracking up at the blowing on her tummy thing, too.

The last few days we've been giving a little more attention to finger foods, and Libby's getting better at them as long as they aren't too small.  But we have a ways to go for sure.  She does seem to really be into the Gerber cheese puff sticks (kinda like baby Cheetos).  So who could blame her on that?  And she still does great with her other baby food.

Sporting her favorite bowl hat.
We also had a play date on Sunday with a little girl who's three months older that Libby and one on Tuesday with my friend Jill's little girl who's thirteen months older than Libby.  It was their second play date, but Libby slept through most of it.  Frankly, it's as much for us moms as it is for the girls since they definitely notice each other, but don't really play "together" a whole lot.  It's still fun for everyone, though.

Libby also now has a drawer in our bathroom dedicated to Libby stuff and one in the kitchen.  She's determined to open those drawers anyway, so I thought it might be a good idea to give her one of her own.  Her bathroom drawer includes a baby comb, baby brush, grown-up brush, a bath pouf and a little jar of face cream (that she can't open on her own, yet.)  Her kitchen drawer includes plastic cooking spoons, a variety of spatulas, measuring cups and spoons, some plastic bowls, etc.  Thank you to the Dollar Store for some of these items!
