"I Want Can-dy"

Well, Halloween started off with the Gordon family celebrating Reformation Sunday at church (we're Lutheran) as well as the 30th Anniversary of our church!

To celebrate, our church had only the 11 o'clock service, so we prepared for that, well aware that we've been attending the 8:30 a.m. service due to the fact that Libby naps a little after 11 a.m. these days.  As expected, she fell asleep on the way there.  However, she perked up when we got inside.  She loves looking around at the people, the lights, the pipes from the organ and the windows.  But by the time church started, Libby was about ready for a real nap.  We traipsed her in and out of the service, which was led by our Bishop, several times as crying started.  We attend a pretty small church, so one baby crying is noticed (even if not everyone cares).  In fact, most of our fellow parishoners have said they don't mind at all and we shouldn't worry about it so much if she gets a little fussy.  Still, when the Bishop is presiding, we're extra cautious.

We got Libby home and she had a nice nap to begin her preparations for our Halloween festivities later on.  In the meantime, her Daddy carved our pumpkins, with a special one for Libby!

Yesterday was a big day, too!  We took a trip to "the Mountains" to see old and very loved friends.  My devoted blog readers will know what "the Mountains" means to me.  Anyway, my lifelong friend, Katie, and most of her family made it this time and we were excited to get to see her pregnant!  She's due on December 27 - just about a week before Libby's birthday (and Katie and I are just over a year apart, too.)

Unfortunately, all our photos with Katie and me together were blurry.

But Libby DID debut her costume there - a pink bunny!

After a long day, she wasn't overly enthusiastic.

But she did look cute!

Tonight, she was a little more into the "spirit" of things.  We got our photos early - and before we went over to our neighbor's house for some pre-trick-or-treating chili!  Yum!

All ready for CANDY!  (And I want kudos for being crafty and making her bag.  On the other side, it says, "Trick or Treat" in little rhinestones.)

But more family photos first - with pumpkins!  Where's my carrot?!

After dinner, we visited a couple of our neighbors to say, "Happy Halloween" and let them see Libby in her costume.  While we readied ourselves for trick-or-treaters, our girls found the CANDY!!!

And judging from how difficult it was to get Libby to have her last bottle and go to bed, I think she must HAVE found some sugar!  Boy, she knew she was missing out on some fun.

While she went to bed, Daddy and Commissioner manned the door.
