That day, she really enjoyed rinsing our shoes before scooting back home.
Diddy and Papa enjoyed a round of golf in the morning and kept Libby in the afternoon while the girls went downtown for some shopping/eating (best iced coffee EVER at Kaminsky's) and some yummy pralines, etc. at Market Street Sweets (better known as River Street Sweets in Savannah) (Sheridan's aunt's business - and her brother manages the Charleston shops!). You can smell the sugar, chocolate, butter and wonderful candy smells from several shops away and it just lures you right in. Best marketing ever right there!
That evening we enjoyed leftovers (lobster linguine the night before!) but some fresh home-done peel and eat shrimp appetizers. Delish!!!
On the 4th, we knew better than to try to leave the area, so we claimed our spot on the beach early!

You'll notice in each of these photos that she's wearing the same bathing suit. We really did wash or rinse it every time she wore it, but it's her favorite and she just wouldn't be seen at the beach in anything else!
She enjoyed lots of boiled peanuts and pistachios all week, too! She had her nap and then got decked out in her red, white and blue!

We feasted on cheeseburgers made on the brand new grill Richard got for the house, fries and a delicious (if I do say so myself) "Fruited Plain" patriotic salad.
Libby even got to stay up late enough to watch some of the fireworks! We ran out to the beach to try to watch them. We saw some from Folly from the beach and front porch and four or five from around the area on the back porch - and of course, we watched some of the "A Capitol Fourth" on PBS, as well. We all missed Jimmy Smits this year!
We also got to see fireworks VERY close on the beach that some neighbors shot off. Those were my favorites and Libby's too. She brought her new little lantern down to the beach with us and liked that light the best this time - in addition to running in the water and pulling her pants down trying to get in. The others around us enjoyed that thoroughly and it may have also been the highlight of their night!
