Big time at the Gordon household on Sunday when our house got a little "Fuller." (Trust me, Neil and his parents would appreciate this comment.)
Neil, Kristi and their sweet Ansley came over for a little family group play date and so Neil could slave away in our yard to spruce it up for Spring! (Isn't that wonderful?!) He pruned, edged, weeded, pine-strawed, raked, bagged, blew leaves and pine straw into place and generally made it look lots better. (Okay, I did pay him a little bit). And now I have another little project for him later on this spring. (And lots of future yard plans.) But we can only manage a little at a time.
Anyway, we hadn't seen Ansley since November since their family was rather under the weather for Libby's birthday. She is just a sweetie! Libby was napping when they first arrived, so Commissioner got to welcome her to our home. And boy did she make it count with TONS of kisses - much to Ansley's delight! Too funny.
Ansley got to play on her own with all of the adults fully focused on her for a little while and then Libby decided it was time to wake up and join the party. The girls were actually very cute together and played together as much as any kids this age do.
They showed each other the toys they were playing with, took them from each other and then gave them back. They even got to go to the playground together in the wagon!
Side note- I took photos all day just to come up with these. With two busy girls going in all directions and different things catching their attention, it was a challenge! But they're so cute, the subject matter obviously wasn't the problem.
Neil was allowed to have a little break so we could eat some burgers and more delicious grilled veggies. I figured as long as they were here we might as well make a day of it! Neil and Kristi live in metro Atlanta (actually a lot closer in to the city than we do), but it takes around 45 minutes from house to house, so with baby schedules and grown-up schedules, and the travel time, it's tough to get together as often as we'd like!
Unfortunately Ansley didn't get much napping in, but boy you'd never had known it. She was such a sweet, calm girl! I need to make sure they get together more often so some of that patience might wear off on Libby! (But Libby sure does come by it honestly.)
Oh- Ansley hit a big milestone at our house, too! She climbed right up those stairs to see Libby when she woke up from her nap! Her first time climbing stairs! Her first birthday is in May and I think she was already talking to us about it, too. Her chit-chat was super cute and she has a very sweet little voice. It's so cool to me to hear baby voices (when they're not fussing or crying).
Tomorrow it's off to Rome for the day for mommy to do a little freelance writing work!
