Catching Up

So, the weekend before Easter, we went to Steeplechase! It was Libby's third, and best, year yet at the event. This year, we took her to the infield to check out the Jack Russell races in the morning and we found a petting zoo and Greyhound rescue dogs up for adoption, too.

She fed a camel, goats, and sheep at the petting zoo and has been talking about the camel ever since. It's her favorite animal on her ABC's placemat and we have to play "hide and seek" with him under her plate, her cup, etc. She find it hilarious.

While we were in Asheville, Libby got to stay in Rome. Marmena and Diddy spoiled her with trips to Cave Spring to play on the playground and feed (or chase) the ducks, a first anniversary party at the country club for Will and Kate (aka - The Cambridges, aka- future King and Queen), tea parties at home and cupcakes!

Apparently she was concerned about getting her hands messy?!

Also recently, I put together her first car (from Aunt Mandy and the Arnolds at her birthday)... finally.  Hey, don't judge- she had a ball with just the huge box for months. It took hours, sweat (from both Michael and me), sore muscles, my full body weight (and Michael's), and a couple of major parts (the two front white sides that hold the roof up) still wouldn't pop in. Eventually, I boiled some water, put the plastic in there and it softened enough for me to bend it and get it in. Relief!

Libby also has a new game she came up with (maybe in Rome?) called "Bed Nap." Bed Nap is climbing in to our bed, pulling the covers up to her neck or over her head and pretending to nap... for about two seconds, until she then says "Ache. Up." (wake up) and pops up, jumps out of the bed, runs to the door and says, "O-body ear" (nobody here) and then we start over again. We find it quite charming (of course.)

And next up will be our trip to Imagine It! (Unless something else pops up first...)
