On Thursday, Libby and I went 'wimmin' in the "big 'wimmin' pool."
I don't think I've ever had more fun at the pool in my life. She is just a BLAST to be around and play with these days and I think the pool is the very best spot. We stayed a little over an hour but she could have definitely gone on longer, though I'm not sure how, because she never stopped! She was pulling herself out on the side ledge, using her kickboard (with some assistance), swimming all over, walking all the way out on the diving board (ours is pretty high!) and while interested in jumping in, she followed my directions and rules quite well the whole time we were there! She must have been delighted that I was also following all of hers, such as, "Pull yourself out here," and "Jump in there." She got a big kick out of my swimming with big splashing kicks and kept trying to copy me when she swam across from one set of steps to the other. She also did a great job with telling me when she had to go to the bathroom. Score!
I really can't wait to go back with her. I'm afraid housework is about to take a major back seat this summer.
Meanwhile, I've been dying to tell you about my garden!
My herbs are HUGE and so many of them lived right through the winter so I didn't have to re-plant. However, even the ones I did have to begin over again have grown a ton. I planted cherry tomatoes for the first time this year, lettuce and zucchini, as well. I figured we'd just see how it went. Well, my tomato plant is insanely large, the lettuce has been growing like crazy and I have a bunch of little zucchini's already!
And let me tell you, once you've grown your own lettuce, you don't even want to bother with store-bought. (I mean, pretty much any veggie or fruit is like that, but I just couldn't believe how strong lettuce flavors can be!) Arugula - well, we already know that it's peppery flavored, but fresh?! YUM. Major bite to it.
Just see below...
 |
| Dill, Mint and Sage |

| Check out that zucchini! Can't wait to harvest! |

| And here's the zucchini plant (that Libby refused to pose in front of for me.) |
