Loving ...and cheating

Let's pretend that I posted this when I actually wrote it (that was on Thursday!)!

Libby has to be one of the most loving children I've encountered. Of course, I don't work with children and she's by far the closest I've come in contact with for an extended 24-hour-a-day type of commitment for... coming up on THREE years. But she's very compassionate to those feeling sad (or looking it, in Commissioner's case most of the time!) and happy to give excessive hugging, petting/patting or kissing.

It's SWEET for those of us lucky enough to be the recipient of these feelings and it makes me proud as a mother, because it's clearly part of her soul. It also makes me a little nervous for how much she might get in trouble in life and love. I sure have a "Pollyanna" view of things, but she just seems to feel quite deeply. It will be interesting - and challenging - to watch and help her develop. This parenting thing is really a ride. I thank God that I have Him to lean on and that He has provided Libby and me with her wonderful father, our grandparents and parents, aunts and uncles and so many special friends to help us.

And speaking of... Michael has been out of town this week but he sent me the sweetest note this morning about our 12 year anniversary of dating today!

Cheating as in... re-posting portions of GiGi and Mimi's e-mail reports to me from Monday and today!

Monday/Gigi:
Libby had a blast at gymnastics!  She pirouetted like a ballerina, high stepped, and did all the warm up exercises with very little reminding from Miss Emily. Then, during the gymnastics part, she jumped, hopped, rolled like a backwards somersault, did the high beam with help and the low beam (backwards) by herself. She said that, "the gymnastics part" was her favorite.

The landscapers finished up... They also aimed all the sprinkler heads (which Libby loved watching)...

Today/Mimi:
good day with Miss B (although, you don't get to see her much on school days)..we were on time- a bit early, but one of her sweet teachers came out and got us and brought us back and said that Libby could help get out some toys...by that time others were arriving.....I got several extra hugs before I departed......and a big one upon my return....
after school we went to Chick-fil-A (as requested by Libby) where we ate a bit (mostly her lunch from school) it was obvious that she was so tired and really not feeling good at all.....she wanted to "chase that doggy around, 2 times" but was so tired that she said, "i just walkin"....and then asked to go to bed.....
she is so sweet and funny.....lots of precious hugs....
When you get those kinds of reports, you sure to realize all that you're missing while at work, but I'm so lucky to get to be with her so much of the week.

Now-- a couple of other things:

Me: "Did you get a good snooze, Libby" Libby: "No, I was just sleepin."

And what about... last night (Friday), she mastered somersaulting forwards totally on her own! She had us laughing and clapping and just filled with pride last night as she somersaulted all over the upstairs of the house, fresh from the bath (so no photos - I don't want to embarrass her THAT badly!) She was so cute and and proud of her accomplishment (and so were we). What fun!
