Sea Turtle Babies and a Guest Post - Sky Viewl!

One more Folly thing...

On the last morning, Diddy took Libby (and Mimi and me) to see the sea turtle nests just in front of our house that we'd been keeping our eyes on since we first became aware of them when we went down to the beach. And BIG NEWS! The turtles had hatched from one of the nests! The tracks were even still there to the water. Since we were heading out, we didn't bring cameras or anything, and of course, no baby turtle sightings, but we counted the holes where they'd dug themselves out and you could see the little tracks. These aren't their official tracks, but they ARE sea turtle tracks. I had never even seen this live before, and now Libby has and she's just five!

On to more contemporary items: guest post from Mimi!

"Our Atlanta Adventure"

For some time, we have been trying to coordinate with Oma, Big Daddy & Ty to take a trip to “Sky View” in Atlanta. Finally on Saturday, all the stars aligned and Diddy and I picked up Libby and headed downtown. The ride into town was fun as we looked at the buildings getting bigger and bigger and trying to be the first to catch a glimpse of the “big Ferris Wheel”.

We met the Pearsons at the parking deck and walked to the CNN Center for lunch. There were lots of fast food restaurant options, one of which was Chick-Fil-A. So, of course that is where Libby and Ty chose to eat. We had a great time at lunch, speculating about the ride and examining the “secret agent” toys that came with the kid’s meals.

After lunch, it was time to ride. Happily for us, it was not crowded at all (probably because it was 1000 degrees outside, but we didn’t mind). We bought our tickets and were immediately seated in our air-conditioned gondola.

Libby and Ty were so excited. Libby decided that she was going to be brave and stand-up the whole time.

As we started our assent the kids became more and more excited. They took turns pointing out all of the tall buildings and everything we could see from “so high up”.

We were promised 4 complete trips around, however, Libby and Ty wanted to ride more so they told us to be very quiet and maybe the people wouldn’t remember that we were there.

Guess what, it worked at least for 2 more trips…hurray! We also got to stop at the very top twice while others were being seated. We all had a wonderful time and Libby said she wants us to all go back and ride again, this time at night.

More Libby & Ty fun up next!
