"Beauty and the Beast" and Libby

Contributed post from Mimi!

One of Libby's Christmas gifts (from Diddy & Mimi) was tickets to the fabulous FOX to see "Beauty and the Beast" on Saturday, February 6. The much-anticipated day finally arrived and we picked Libby up just before lunch. Libby's choice for lunch was Chick-fil-A (nuggets, fruit and chocolate milk) and of course play time at the play place in Chick-fil-A. Then it was on to the Fox Theatre. We arrived early enough for Libby and Diddy to check-in to the Georgian Terrace Hotel (directly across the street from the Fox), while Mimi parked the car. Libby was excited that our room was on the 16th floor and that we had "a great view."

At the Fox, we settled into our seats and even had time to hear the "Mighty Mo" (they were playing selections from Oliver!). Diddy took Libby up to see the orchestra win the pit before the show began.

Finally, the lights dimmed and the overture began. Libby sat on Diddy's lap for most of the show and was literally on the edge of her seat. The performers were terrific. Wonderful voices and amazing special effects. Of course we all loved Belle and the Beast, but, Gaston's funny lines and amazing voice were truly special. We all enjoyed the show very much.

Diddy also took Libby to the balcony after the show just to see the view.

Next, we headed to our favorite (if attending a Fox event), Baraonda Ristorante where we enjoyed delicious bread and stone oven pizza (yummy).

After dinner it was back to settle in our hotel room, or so we thought....but, Libby had other plans. She took us on a tour of the Georgian Terrace from top to bottom. Literally, we went down to the basement areas, saw the prep for a wedding reception..then all over the main lobby (inside and out) up stairs and elevators to the roof where there is a pool and an amazing view of Atlanta, including Stone Mountain in the distance. While on the roof we got to see a beautiful bride and her groom have their pictures taken. We could only imagine how amazing they are going to turn out. Libby enjoyed riding the elevator. She said it made her feel, "floopy, floopy." Once we were all worn out from our tour, it was pj and game time. We played Sequence several times (Libby won twice and Diddy won once).

After a very fun, full day it was time for bed. We read one Froggy book, and Libby went to sleep quickly.

Sunday morning began early. Quick showers, packing and then down to the restaurant for a lovely breakfast. Libby had a huge delicious waffle and sausage. Mimi had Eggs Benedict and Diddy had a large omelet. One more quick tour of upstairs at the restaurant, and it was time for finally packing and checking out.

Happily, we were able to end our fun weekend by joining Mama, Dadda and Matthew at church.

We all had a great time and can't wait to do it again.
