Winter Break

Well, it was Winter Break for the kids this week, and a "recess week" for me.

Recess Weeks are nothing like recess for me. So, we had to make some plans.

Our family enjoyed church and remembered Libby's baptism, gave each other sweet cards, ate sweet treats and a great dinner on Sunday for Valentine's Day.

You already saw what we did on Monday. Michael had to work out of town this week, so the kids and I zipped up to Rome and Cedartown for a few days.

I got a bunch of work done that needed doing, and the kids had a ball playing with each other and everybody. The second I got there I had to work, but then we headed out to see Diddy at his office! And he took us to the fire station!

Matthew was a little nervous and hesitant this time, but Libby was ready to climb right in! She even slid partway down the pole. We saw a fireman slide the whole day down, too! Plus, one went and got dressed -- fully, oxygen tank and mask and everything -- in under one minute. We were all pretty impressed with that.

Then, it was lunch at Schroeder's and Diddy treated them to snow cones - well, I made them share one - and Libby chose Peppermint flavor on that cold day!

They really did share like champs. And enjoyed every bite/sip, too.

We also enjoyed meals at Harvest Moon Cafe and Blue Fin! We had fun visits with Mema Mabel and Mema & Boobus, too. Boobus took the kids on a little tour of his workshop in the garage, and they showed off their handstand and cartwheel skills for Mema Mabel.

Mimi also made me a special dinner by request, and we all got to enjoy pots de creme that Mimi made for their Valentine's Day, too.

On Thursday, the babies went to Gigi's house for a night. While Matthew napped, Libby helped Gigi decorate for Easter.

Also throughout the week, I looked at neighborhoods, online and asked friends, for suggestions about house colors. We have to have the house repainted, so may as well make a bit of a change. What do YOU think?

Yesterday Michael finally got to see the babies again too. We talked this week of course, including on his birthday - plus we sent a video that day. But he also got to try out the new driver he got for Christmas with a round of golf, plus extra holes, with Papa. And Libby joined them for the extra holes, too. She learned out to how golf balls and clubs this time, and it sounded like she enjoyed it as much as I always did growing up, too.

We also had a birthday dinner with Michael's parents -- delicious steak, Parmesan smashed potatoes and asparagus. Plus, there was chocolate pot de creme for dessert. We were all thankful for Michael's birthday... He even got some new, modern luggage with decent rolling wheels!

We celebrated here today too, with church, him getting to work, and enjoy fried chicken, mac & cheese and roasted broccoli for dinner. We really do love him, and we are so lucky that he's ours!
