I feel like I haven't done a fresh post in awhile on just their cuteness, smartness, fun and how much I love them!
Oh boy, I got to spend the day with my boy. All at home. It rained all day and was fairly miserable, but it was nice here at home. Matthew had a pajama day, we tried a new pancake recipe, played and snuggled. We just enjoyed each other.
It was really pretty warm here, but that little cutie guy wore his flannel Mickey pjs all day, and tonight, buried under his big load of lovies and two baby blankets he insisted on wearing his slipper socks to sleep again. I think he's worn his Snoopy socks every night since the Krafts gave them to him at Christmas.
He's getting really good at his shape-sorter ball. He loves playing cars, riding his little cars, building Lego towers, helping with any meal as well as laundry, playing anything with Libby. Lately they have been excited to put his giant foam "Cars" puzzle together, along with Libby's tea set.
Matthew's also very excited any time he does an art project at school. And when Michael gets home, it's immediately, "How was your day?" Followed by, "How was Matthew's day?" He also liked to tell us every weekday that he has been to school. He also like to go over who might be the one to get him up in the morning when he's in bed at night before we leave the room. They he asks, "Can I say, 'Mama, mama?!'" Meaning, when I shut the door to leave, if he calls me back, will I come back and kiss his forehead and trace his forehead. Seems he's a bit of a planner like his Mama and sister.
Last week, he woke during one of his naps. Sad stuff. But I got to comfort him and this one required getting him out of his crib. He fell back asleep in my and it was simply heaven. He truly fell asleep, but eventually he wound up rousing himself, leaned back with his eye squinty and told me, "Mama, put me back in tha crib."
Libby just put together a new book for class! She designed the cover on the computer, wrote and illustrated the pages and bound it together. It's called, "The Dog," and it's pretty impressive. Better than I could have done- both on illustrations and creative writing.
She also wrote all of the thank you notes for her birthday gifts, too. She did a wonderful job at it and she is just maturing so much.
I'm not the mom that I want to be every minute, but they are patient with me, and something must be going right. They are just awesome babies and along with their Daddy, my true Valentine.
