Matthew's "favorite friend" at school right now is Chandler. His teachers today told me that the two of them played and had a running conversation for the whole day today. Too funny!
On Wednesday morning, we got to cuddle a bunch and it was awesome. I even snapped a selfie because my phone was within arms reach (there was no way I would have jeopardized this sweet time and position had it not been)!
I have also not shared that Matthew has a new favorite song that he asks to listen to on repeat anytime we are in the care now. Libby has apparently rubbed off on him, because it's Barry's Manilow's own, "It's a Miracle." Matthew asks, "Play 'Miracle, too,' Mama!" After asking for the second time in a row this morning on the way to school he told me, "It makes my heart so happy."
Just precious!
And he made a special craft today at school, a Valentine's heart on a stick. He was so proud to show it to me, so I asked if it was for me. "It's for Libby," was the reply. Talk about making my heart happy! So this afternoon after his nap, he gave it to her, and here's the video:
And then there's the video below that is a small glimpse at Libby's imagination these days. Everything talks, plays and has a whole, ongoing scene built around it. I hope her creativity grows and grows! She'll be a great improver one day. Watch out "Who's Line is it Anyway?!" Or perhaps she'll be a writer!
You should have seen how quickly she got to work writing her book for school this week! Had it been me at the same age (or a bit older - not sure we were required to write books in Kindergarten), I would have agonized over it for ages before putting pencil to paper! With only a little starter question or two from me, she came up with it right on the spot.
Here are a couple of throwback photos from early January, when Matthew and I sat down for a bit to take in UGA's bowl game. This snuggle was totally spontaneous by my Bouck, and I loved every minute of it.
The weather was very pretty before all the rain on Wednesday too - and warm! Our yard is so confused. We have camellias blooming, and also hyacinths!
The groundhog did not see his shadow this year, either.
Happy Winter/Spring!
