Flashing Those Pearly Whites

Matthew just has an infectious smile!

So when Libby had her great dental appointment two weeks ago, and I finally made an appointment for Matthew's first one. We've been excited and talking about it ever since, so he would know what to expect.

Wednesday's appointment was a huge hit. Matthew had been excited to choose a green toothbrush and shark-shaped bristle cover. We had a great time playing in the waiting room (just like he did while we were waiting on Libby) and then we went back with Robin!

He got a pretty good report on our brushing, but had deep grooves in his molars like his mother. So sealants will be coming. He has one last two-year molar to come in, too. And the dentist also, of course, noticed that he has been raised on a paci. As it turns out, I found a couple of holes in his paci yesterday evening. It was his last one. So we had to say goodbye to it last night. He asked for it again today at nap, but I reminded him that it was gone, he filled in that it was broken, and he had an okay nap. Last night he was great, too. Of course, with somewhere around 12-15 lovies on him at each sleep session, plus two blankets, there is plenty to keep him comfy, cozy and warm. Of course, if one comes uncovered or, Heaven forbid, Daniel Tiger's watch comes off, sadness immediately ensues.

He had fun celebrating Valentine's Day at school this week, and Mardi Gras, too.

Michael was out of town until this evening, and on Tuesday night, we ate our new pancakes and sausage for the traditional Fat Tuesday meal. We even ate red beans & rice last night!

Libby and Matthew had fun goofing off on Monday before bedtime. They surprised me with this!

And speaking of Valentine's Day, Libby has been celebrating at school all week, too.

And today, she wrote the sweetest notes to her teachers for tomorrow, as it's Valentine's exchange, but also teacher appreciation week. She brought them each a picture she painted on Wednesday.

Today I surprised her at lunch at school while my tire (that had a nail in it, causing a slow leak) was fixed across the street!

Do I look tired? It's been a long week.

But tonight, Daddy got home in time for an early dinner so I could take Libby to Science Night for Kindergarten at Mountain View. We had a fun time doing some of the experiments and activities they have worked on in science lab.

In other news this week, it snowed while the kids were at school on Tuesday, and it stuck a little bit off and on, but it didn't affect the roads at all. Now it looks like we might get some snow again on Monday - first day of our Winter Break!
