Big Weekend

So, B had a big weekend.  On Friday, Marmena helped her kick off the weekend with a trip to see my grandparents from Savannah who were visiting at my aunt's house nearby!  It sounded like they had a great day, with a trip out to lunch for Mexican fare (one of Libby's favorites, thank goodness), lots of kissing of Aunt Toni's many bunny figurines and real rabbit, Georgie, and even ended the day with kisses for everyone before she left!!!!

On Saturday morning, we zipped back over to visit before Libby's nap.  Of course, Libby fell asleep for about 30 minutes on the way home and didn't want to bother with napping after getting back.  She did relax again while Michael took her for a stroller ride, but no sleep!  We then had a barbecue with some of Michael's coworker friends down the road.  All babies (there are a BUNCH) were invited and we were a bit concerned about how long Libby would last considering the lack of a good nap.  Apparently we shouldn't have worried!

She really couldn't have been better.  She interacted some with the other kids (most were younger) and pretty much did her own thing and exploring to amuse herself.  I am so thankful that she's able to entertain herself in these settings (and she's getting better about it all the time at home, too.)  After a false start or two on the slip-and-slide, she got into that (especially the water spouts down the side) (but she was walking or sitting and scooting, not flinging herself, down the slide.)

And mainly she LOVED the "baby ATV."  Yep, she sat on it, so Michael showed her to push the button to "go."  She WENT.  And it was every man for himself!  And every parent pulling kids out of the way while trying to save themselves, too!  Okay, we did control her some- and she didn't ride for very long any time she was on it.  But it was confirmed that she loves to move, as quickly as possible, loves a rush, and WE do NOT need to encourage this with purchasing this sort of item ANY TIME SOON.

We had a great time though, left with B still happy, and she was a bit giddy by bedtime (which was pretty adorable, too).  And this morning she slept in and slept again on the way to my aunt and uncle's church service, where they had their annual Patriotic Service.  Libby was awesome there, too - and it was wonderful to have Boobus there this year to be honored for his service in the U.S. Air Force.

Picture time was a bit challenging, 'cause Libby was ready for a nap, for REAL, by the time church was over.  But we got a few!

And we ended the visit late in the afternoon with more kisses and it was a great visit!  We just wish they lived closer.  This week?!  Visit from Millie!
