And Friday night, we got to catch up on Glee from this week (since I missed it for book club)! I can't wait to see the season finale this Tuesday.
Anyway, Saturday was the real fun! We got to attend Ansley Fuller's First Birthday party at a park in Dunwoody! Did you get that? Her party was outside, at a park, with trees, AND water. Obviously, Libby was quite pleased with the event. There was also a bubble machine. And food. And presents. And other babies/kids, along with lots of admiring adults. To start, Ansley has a very large extended family (and not that extended, really). Her mother has four sisters and her daddy has a brother with a little girl. Plus, there were other friends and grandparents and great aunts and uncles!

Libby added to Ansley's gift pile by adding items from her own diaper bag.
But Ryyyannnn- look at my hoola hoop!
She found a stump to rest on - what a relief!
After a ride in Ansley's new wagon- it was REALLY nap time, so we had to go. But before we left, everyone DID get to witness how the perfect child can also throw a perfect fit when she doesn't want to leave a good time! (For the record, we were there for about three hours - and it was WELL over two hours past her nap time (she did catch a few winks on the way there, thank goodness.) She put up a pretty good fit even for at least ten minutes into the car ride.
But she really was good at the party and we managed to avoid the poison ivy that was around. She was a total mess by the time we left (but her Daddy was sweet enough to clean her up half-way through the party.) She also has scratches on her legs and one elbow (and she came in with a cut on her lip from the zoo and a scratch on her nose.) She seems like such a kid in so many ways!
Oh, and Ansley did a great job getting into her cake! She ate the peeps right off the top (it was the cutest little cake) and since the party was bird-themed (like Ansley's bedroom), she had bright pink peeps on the top of it. We all enjoyed the cupcakes, too - even Libby liked them! Some were just iced and some had little "nests" made of toasted coconut (YUM!) and Reese's eggs (another YUM!)
It was great to share such a fun day with our friends!
