Frustration

So, those of you who know me, understand that I am not the most patient person in the world.  By far.  (One of the reasons I don't feel I'd ever make a very suitable teacher.)

I've worked hard over Libby's lifetime to become more patient with things and adjust my expectations- for her and for myself.  I've even learned to let things go - like clutter around the house during the day (and sometimes into the evening.)  I really don't even straighten up her playroom any more unless I can't walk through it without stepping on, or tripping over, something, or unless I need to clean under/around it.  (I used to at least straighten it at night).

I read all the books and don't want mealtimes to become a battle ground.  My baby has always been a pretty good eater and I've been quite lucky in the fact that she actually likes a lot of vegetables I give her.  Cooked, cold green beans and peas are two of her favorite snack foods!  Pretty cool, huh?

Well, her appetite has slowed (almost thankfully) over the last couple of months.  There was a time just after her first birthday that I wondered if this was her appetite now, how would we be able to feed her and ourselves, and Commissioner, when she got a little older!

Mainly though, her appetite seems to be lower when I'm the one with her.

She seems to only want milk and an occasional bite of banana if I'm eating it with the peel pulled back like an adult.  Now, she will eat a few other things, I guess if she's REALLY hungry, but when she's begging for milk at other times, it's hard to turn her down.  She still doesn't drink probably more than 24 ounces or so in a day, (and generally enjoys yogurt and cheese), but it seems like she should get some other nutrition when she's with me.

Does anyone have any great suggestions?

Oh- and the new song is Miss B's newest music greeting card (she LOVES the talking/singing cards) and we all get to enjoy them, of course.  "How Sweet It Is" is just perfect for us anyway!
