My baby girl got her first haircut on Friday morning. She played beauty shop with Marmena and they took care of some of the hair that kept falling in her face that she wouldn't let me pull back with a clip. (I can't even get one in without her pulling it out in disgust!) So, it was time for me to accept the fact that my girl is growing up (she turned 16 months on Mother's Day!) and let this momentous event happen.
It took me the evening to get used to it, but I like the results a lot! It's a great summer cut (even if it does make her look a bit more grown-up.)
This morning we took B for her second breakfast out (I love the treat of breakfast out occasionally - we just never do it.) We ate at a good Southern establishment down the road, "Biscuits and More." They have great biscuits and cheese grits and she liked both! She had some bits of country ham, eggs and hashbrowns, too. She seemed to be really into the grits for the first bite or two, but then didn't want any more (crazy, I know.) We got home and used our neighbors' available dumpster to clean out our garage a bit and B was exhausted and ready for a nap by 10:30 a.m.!
The day progressed and I got several things accomplished. Then it was time for her grandmothers to come so I could take them to the Roswell Tea House for their birthday tea! We enjoyed a lovely afternoon together with so many delightful delicacies (name that movie?), that we needed to walk a bit afterwards. (I will be visiting again, for sure.) We had a great visit to downtown Roswell to cutesy shops, antique shops and more!
What a fun day!
Oh, and now we're watching the movie referenced above, one of our very favorites, "Love Actually." A modern classic.
